![]() The outdoor area of this GWL is TINY compared to others. Having been to other GWLs, I missed a roller coaster water slide and a hot tub area, however, there were other new and fun rides we had not experienced elsewhere, so we were satisfied. Overall, however, for a non-holiday April weekend, it was not as crowded as it could have been and we really couldn't complain. ![]() However, we got into the park at 9 AM and it didn't get crowded until 11 AM. We were in the water park a bit after 4 PM. We checked in on Friday the 22nd at 3:45 and our room was ready. Reception will let you into the water park as early as Noon (although it's 1 PM on the record). A 1 night stay would have been suffice for me, however, our daughter and nieces were happy with the 2 nights. The money you are paying for is NOT for the room itself and 4) If you expect that there will not to be lines for rides and food during holidays or weekends. If you are going to go around expecting everything to be perfect because you spent a lot of money, you are setting yourself up for disappointment 3) If you expect more than 3 star accommodations. First of all don't come here if: 1) You believe that an indoor water park should not smell of chlorine and shouldn't be loud 2) You are on a tight budget and already think this place is expensive. Here are some tips and advice, especially after reading some others' reviews. We have always enjoyed the GWL and the new Southern California location did not disappoint. We have been to the ones in Mason, OH and Kansas City for a group reunion. They were kind and attentive – even though my goal was to let him cry it out. The staff was on him in under 60 seconds asking where his mom was. He was within my line of site, I just didn’t want to encourage his behavior. I walked away and sat on a chair 15 feet away. You’ll burn through that $6 game in 10-15 minutes. You’ll buy it for the kids and then constantly declare it’s your turn. 2) Buffet breakfast is free for kids 3 and under. Maybe try water shoes? He was heartbroken. We tried to have him wear shoes to get that extra 1/2" but they measure with shoes off. There are 4 rides for heights above that. Helpful tips on the park: 1) Height cut off for most rides is less than 42". 6) $7 craft beers (excellent section) are a phone call and 5 minutes away. 5) Outdoor cabanas have a 1 hour later check-in time than indoor cabanas due to lifeguard schedules. Outdoor cabanas give you a great line of sight and easy access to your kids. There is a large rope fence in front of the indoor cabanas so it's difficult to jump in the pool if the kids need you. Indoor cabanas are in front of the 'baby' pool. 4) Outdoor cabanas are directly in front of a huge outdoor pool. You can fit your wallets, cell phones, and giant cameras. 2) Cabanas have full size towels - not the super TINY towels available for everyone else. Outdoor ones have roofs and door flaps that clip together for privacy. Some important tips about the cabanas: 1) Indoor cabanas don't have doors or roofs. ![]() I almost hate writing a good review because I don't want this place to get busy.
